Anakao is a village located in southwest Madagascar. A boat transfer is essential to visit this remote corner (+/-40km from Toliary). This beautiful village is renowned for its sumptuous white sand beaches and turquoise lagoons.

Aside from marine activities, a visit to the Tsimanapetsotsa Reserve, located 50km from the village, is also worthwhile. This world-renowned reserve is renowned for its lake and pink flamingos. For a stay in Anakao, a visit to Tsimanapetsotsa is highly recommended.

Not to be missed: Nosy Ve and Nosy Satrana. These are two small islands located off the coast of Anakao: Nosy Ve, 5km away, and Nosy Satrana, 10km away. These beautiful islets are accessible by boat and canoe. We can observe humpback whales as they pass through Madagascar during the southern winter.

Herons and limestone remains of fossilized Aepyornis eggs can be seen in Nosy Satrana.
